My name is Ivery Bell and music is my passion. I have been singing virtually my whole life ...actually since the age of eight. At eight years old I won 1st place on amateur night at the NYC Apollo Theater.

At 19 years of age I signed with Sal Soul Records as one of the lead singers of the R&B recording group "Moment of Truth." I recorded four albums with that group. One single from that 1st album became a local club hit entitled "Helplessly." We also enjoyed marked success overseas with songs like, “Loving you is Killing Me" and “You got me Hummin." With this group I also recorded on the movie soundtrack from the film "Nocturna" along with Gloria Gaynor and Vikki Sue Robinson. I also performed as an actor in the film.

In the 90's I began singing gospel as I came to know the Lord and wanted to use my gift to glorify God. My initial strong gospel influences were artists like The Winans, John P. Kee and pioneers like James Cleveland.

My musical resume includes writing, producing, voice coaching and former choir director. I have worked the local club circuit as well as major tours, venues like and including Madison Square Garden in New York City. Some of the artists I have performed and worked with include: The Stylistics, The O'Jays, Dramatics, Kool & The Gang, Melissa Morgan, Cissy Houston, Timothy Wright and performed as lead singer for legendary R&B group Blue Magic. I recently started singing in Hezekiah Walker's WLIB radio station choir. I have written, produced and sold records to both small independent and major record labels, such as Soul to Soul, Polygram and Def Jam.

My first gospel CD was just released entitled Just Praisn’. I had the pleasure of working with Dennis Williams (musical director of the legendary O'Jays) as my co-producer and musical arranger. This highly anticipated project has so far been very well received. My goal was to make a record that would have something for everyone...young, old, traditional or contempory listeners. In general the response to this record seems to indicate that I have accomplished that.
